I would go with Ian's suggestion to upgrade to OE 5.0.6 (if you haven't done
so already). In general, errors such as -3205 usually imply that your
Internet connection itself is not stable and hence you can't contact the
mail server.
Sometimes, a file corruption might cause the problem, in which case you can
try to delete the following files...
Mac HD:System Folder:Preferences:Internet Preferences
Mac HD:System Folder:Preferences:PPC Registration Database
Mac HD:System Folder:Preferences:MS Internet Cache:
Note that the Internet Preferences file controls a number of options within
Internet Explorer, hence you might want to backup the file so that it can be
restored at a later time.
