Message from Hell in OE 5.0.6

Hello All,

I have a friend that is experiencing a very strange occurence with his
Outlook Express for Mac, version 5.0.6. He has received an email from
a known good source, a public library, that when he selects the email
OE crashes with an Error Type 1. He is running a Beige G3, MacOS
9.2.2, 384MB RAM. I walked him through rebuilding the database and
also increasing the memory allocation to 10,000K. He cannot even
delete the email, when he selects the email OE immediately throws the
error and crashes.

Anybody know of a way to delete the message without destroying his
database?
