Brian,
Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

The two pieces of software that might have some applicability that I have
experience with are NetMeeting and Skype.

NetMeeting supports multiparty data sharing (application/desktop sharing,
whiteboard, file transfer) out of the box. It allows one to one
audio/video
calling and supports multiparty audio video but only with the use of an
MCU
server. Since NetMeeting is being "decommissioned" (is not available for
Vista) commercial MCUs are no longer generally available. OpenMCU
(www.openh323.org has info) might be useable but you would have to tinker.
NetMeeting has a difficult time traversing NATs and firewalls so if its
impending retirement is not a show stopper, the NAT traversal problem
might
be.

Skype (I think the current beta) supports multiparty audio/video (possibly
5 maximum) without an outside server but doesn't have standard application
sharing or other data features (though there may be 3rd party addins for
this). Skype navigates NATs very well.

Other potential options are the online meeting services (LiveMeeting,
Webex, Interwise, Raindance et al). Each have different capabilities so
you
would have to investigate individually. NAT navigation and ease of ad hoc
use is often considered a strong point. Costs vary but are basically per
minute per participant.

The idea would be to use the new high end Logitech Quickcam Ultravision
webcams.

I don't know the product -- what makes them "high end"-- what advantage
do
they have over most other webcams?

I would like to also know about data sharing options.

Is there a "review" that I could read about the different options?

No place that I am aware of.

I've seen this ivisit.com website as well:
http://www.ivisit.com

Ivisit has been around since the late 90's with little change. Not sure
how
they survive or the current quality. I often recommended it in the past as
an alternative to NetMeeting when Mac connectivity was an issue.
