Re: CONF.EXE has generated errors and will be closed by Windows

Sorry, I tried all versions of the error message, but most of them with
my symptoms post once, and usually in the wrong group it seems. Here is
one example search:
http://groups.google.com/groups/search?ie=UTF-8&q=conf.exe+c0000005+%28access+violation%29

Others I have tried:
netmeeting crash
netmeeting crashes
CONF.exe crashes
CONF.EXE has generated errors and will be closed by Windows
Netmeeting c0000005 (access violation)

This happens immediately on startup of the application, and currently I
do not have any automatic updates running.

The odd thing I do notice is that even when I "uninstall" the camera
completely Windows Imaging still lists it as a "source", but it appears
nowhere in the device manager. Are there any registry settings or INI
files that I might look for that could be corrupted? I know I had a
Canon camera TWAIN driver installed from my work camera, but like I
said Netmeeting has been working all last and this week up until
yesterday.

For the sound card I use the onboard sound, and have uninstalled it's
drivers and turned it off in my BIOS. So for all intents and purposes I
have no "sound", and Windows does not detect any sound cards on boot.
