I am having trouble sending emails to one contact in particular in my hotmail
email account, I have sent to other hotmail emails address and they areceive
them, its just this one . I am at my wits end, as I cannot figure out why all
of a sudden this is happening, as I was able to send her emails prior to the
change over of the new hotmail live? I am using IE8 which I only downloaded
other day, and this was hapening before, I have XP Proffessional SP3. Does
anyone have any ideas as to why its just the one contact, as I have been to
all help pages for days and cant find anything. Its very frustrating, and
also I dont receive emails from her either, but receive emails from other
contacts?
Is this other recipient also a Hotmail user? Or is their e-mail account
on a non-Hotmail domain?
As a test, send yourself a copy of your e-mail that you send to this
problematic recipient but send that copy to a non-Hotmail domain.
Create a test e-mail account somewhere else: with your ISP, at Yahoo
Mail or Inbox.com, or anywhere else other than Hotmail (there are plenty
of places that offer free e-mail service). Then send a test e-mail with
the problematic recipient in the To field. Include sending yourself a
copy by putting yourself in the Bcc field (or the Cc field if you don't
care if the recipient sees your new test account). If you get a copy of
your test e-mail at your non-Hotmail account then you have verified that
Hotmail actually sent your e-mail account. If true then there's nothing
you can do at your end. You have shown that Hotmail went through the
process of sending your test e-mail.
The reason I suggest using a non-Hotmail account (actually an account
that is NOT with whomever is your e-mail provider) is that internally
routed e-mails may not go through the mail-send process. If the sender
and recipient are both using the same e-mail provider, the e-mail can be
routed internally without ever going through the SMTP process.
Thank you for your reply, yes we are both using hotmail accounts, but I have
sent other emails from my hotmail accoutn to her daughters hotmails account,
so we would see if it worked and it did, I have sent my self emails from
outlook to hotmail, and hotmail to outlook and it all worked? So this really
has me stumped as it appears to be only her hotmail email address that wont
receive the e-mails, they appear in my sent folder as sent, I sent to her
daughter's hotmail e-mail, and I cc the problem email address too and it
didnt work, but her daughter got hers? and it showed in my sent folder both
address? also they dont bounce back, like post master failure? We were able
to send emails before, she can send me an email from her hotmail accoutn and
I receive it, I was incorrect in previous post saying I dont receive from
her, I get them from her, if I click reply she does'nt received them? Its all
very strange. Thanks again for taking the time to read this. Lisa :)
