You can try to remove the account from Outlook Connector, remove account from WLM(copy any important messages to the Storage Folder
or an folder in Windows Explorer. Logon to mail.live.com, ensure the account is accessible via the Hotmail interface..
Once verified, reinstall the Connector verify functionality. Add the account in WLM.

Note: Live Services(Hotmail, Calendar, Contacts etc are in a transition mode(migration of Hotmail , new look/features) over this
month with more to happen early next year).

I have no clue what 'pending' in your WLM inbox means..with a hotmail account, they are either there or not and you'll have to refresh us on what (a) and (b) were..that message is no longer available when viewing in WLM. Provide that info from your archive or Google it..

I formerly used the Outlook Connector without incident. I noticed a few
days ago, via a pop-up notice from Windows Messenger, that I had 10-12 unread
messages in my Hotmail account at WLM but which weren't, and aren't, being
downloaded to Outlook. I then noticed for the first time that the Outlook
Connector seemingly was no longer installed on my Outlook.

I reinstalled the Outlook Connector (v. 12.0.6407.1000). Now: (1) I can
send messages from Outlook using my Hotmail address using the Outlook
Connector, (2) I cannot download pending messages from my Hotmail account at
WLM, and (3) in Outlook, when I do a Send/Receive with the Show Progress
window displayed, Outlook shows a progress bar for user@xxxxxxxxxxx as though
it's downloading mail but the messages sitting in my hotmail account at WLM
account are not in my Outlook user@xxxxxxxxxxx inbox (or anywhere else that
I can determine).

Properties for user@xxxxxxxxxxx in my Outlook mail folder view shows Type:
Folder Containing Mail and Post items. Location: Microsoft Office Outlook.
Clicking Advanced Properties brings up a Microsoft Office Outlook Connector
dialog, "Set up Outlook Connector to automatically synchronize your Web-based
accounts in Outlook," and a prompt for email address and password.

I'm stymied as to what I need to change to download my incoming messages for
the hotmail address, messages that I can see pending in my WLM inbox.
