Why do you think Gmail is free? If they were supported, would you
expect it to be free? Since it is free, Google doesn't have to announce
when they perform maintenance, and that can result in resetting the mail
accounts. You could go ask over in the Gmail help group at:

Are you culling for more spam by advertising your (or someone else's)
e-mail address in the headers and body of your post to spambots that
roam newsgroups to harvest them?
