Mike,
Once again, thanks for responding to my problem. Last night I was on the
phone for 55 minutes with MSN help. It took approximately 2 minutes for me
to navigate through their voice command menue system, and less than 5 minutes
for the tech guy (he was in the Phillipines) to determine that I needed to go
through Verizon to solve my problem. MSN only offers tech support to their
dial up customers. I have a fiber optics connection with Verizon, with MSN
premium software. I tried to explain to the tech from MSN that Verizon said
I needed to contact MSN. He said he would conference call Verizon and
explain the situation to them first, then let them solve the problem with me.
That was the other 48 minutes of the call. Listening to the voice recording
about my business being important to them, and stay on the line for the next
available representative. Never did talk to Verizon and the MSN guy finally
had to go. It appears that there isn't much support for customers like me.
There must be someone somewhere who can solve this problem. Unfortunately, I
can't seem to find them. I appreciate the 2 links you sent to me for help.
However I have tried them both without success. If you can think of anything
else that might work let me know.

I am using MSN version 9.2 for email and internet.
I have MSN premium as part of my Verizon FIOS conection.
I am running Windows XP
Verizon says they cannot help me.
I used to have all of my emails stored on the web based server, but I
had so
many emails stored it took forever to start my MSN. Also, I was
afraid that
my estranged wife would pull the plug on the Verizon DSL service I
have at my
house (I don't live there anymore since we separated).
I transferred all of the emails to my PC in May of this year. I have
over
1,500 emails that pertain to the divorce that I need to find.
Unforunately,
my roomate (while surfing porn no doubt) infected my computer. I
tried
several steps to save my information and was unsuccessful. I took my
computer to a local repair shop and they couldn't remove the virus
either.
They backed up my entire hard drive onto one of my Personal Media Hard
drives
(300 gig HP product). I have been able to transfer just about all of
my
important data that is on the Personal Media Drive, with the exception
of the
emails I moved in May from the MSN server to my computer.
From what I have been able to research, these files are currently
stored in
the following location:
L:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\MSN\DB
"L" is my personal Media Drive
Also, according to what I have found out regarding file extensions,
the
files are a SDF designation. I have moved this file to my C drive, as
well
as a folder that is named "Mail (t_reidy@xxxxxxx). The SDF file
extension
has 45,028 KB of information. In the MSN (t_reidy@xxxxxxx) folder
there are
text files noting the importing and exporting of these files and the
quantities of emails in each of the folders I had when this was done.
I would like to get these emails moved back into the folders that were
on my
MSN mail, but stored on my PC. I bought the Personal Media Drive to
record
movies, but before I can erase it I need to confirm that I have these
emails.
I also need to have these emails as I approach my divorce hearing.
I am not sure there is anymore information I can give you. However,
if you
think of something post a reply to this and I will get you the answers
asap.
Thanks,

What mail program were you using?
If you were using the web based MSN, the message should still be on
the
MSN server and there's nothing you need to do.
Even if you were using Outlook Express with HTTP access to MSN, the
messages should still be on the server. All you need to do is set up
the account in Outlook Express.
If you were using Outlook Express with POP3 access to the server,

My roomate infected my computer with a virus. I had my hardrive
backed up
and reloaded my operating system. I can't figure out how to import
these
emails from the backed up hardrive to the reloaded hardrive and put
them back
in the folders on my MSN. Any ideas?
