It might be this issue
Outlook or Outlook Express Hangs After You Send an E-Mail Message That
Has an Attachment

Although it talks about specific programs, it applies to any Internet
program Sending a large chunk of data. It does not affect receiving
data.

I am having problems sending emails with Yahoo and Spray (another
swedish web mail service). I can only send emails that are really
tiny.
The moment I exceed more than just a few words it refuses to send.
Likewise I'm having problems attaching files. When pressing attach the
progress bar moves a little, then nothing more happens. Problems are
both in Firefox and Internet Explorer. Other than that surfing the net
etc is no problem. Here is a mail I sent to Yahoo (still waiting for
their support):

"
I can not attach emails in my Yahoo! emails. Internet Explorer or
Firefox is the same. After selecting the file and pressing the attach
button the progress bar moves a little, then stops and nothing more
happens. After a while I get the browser's default error message about
not being able to connect to the server. There is also a problem
sending emails with lots of text in them. Actually, the moment I try
to
send an email with more than just a few words I get the same problem:
waiting waiting waiting, and then the browser's error message.

All other aspects of Internet access (surfing, streaming video,
downloading etc) seem to work just fine. Therefor I believe this is
email related.

Three more clues:

1. I have the same problem with my spray account, so it is not just
Yahoo!

2. I do not have the same problem on my other computer at home,
sharing
the same internet connection. They are both running WinXP SP2, JAVA
runtime 1.5, and with all upgrades installed.

3. Disabling my firewall and virus protection does not help.

Please help...
