Are you getting these messages in your AOL inbox or you Verizon inbox?
Do you have an AOL account set up in Outlook or Outlook Express? I'm not
sure AOL allows either of those mail clients to work with an AOL email
account. You may find it necessary to use AOL's software to utilize that
account.
Please display and inspect the full headers for the messages you are
receiving. Unwanted email advertisements and scams sometimes imitate
messages like undeliverable mail notices and even messages from your
aquaintences. Those messages could even be comeing from some other
person who has you in thier contact list. That person may have a
malicious program on their computer that is getting you address from his
contact list, allowing the malicious program to impersonate you.
If you aren't already, install and run anti-virus and
anti-spyware/anti-adware programs, install the matching updated threat
databases and check your computer for viruses, adware and spyware.
Intentionaly misspell your email address in your news account settings
to hamper software that scans news postings for mail address to use in
spamming campaigns.
