Well, maybe I was wrong about Passport not timing out if you use a
non-Hotmail account with it. According to
http://www.passport.net/consumer/termsofuse.asp?lc=1033&id=10&cbid=486&rollrs=11:
Microsoft may also terminate or suspend your access to the .NET Passport
Services for inactivity, which is defined as failing to sign in to the
Services for an extended period of time, as determined by Microsoft.
So it looks like they have the option to expire your Passport account
but they are not specific regarding what is the expiration interval, if
any. They don't define "extended period". But this expiration is
ambiguous where with Hotmail the expiration is automatic.
