Unless you actually deleted the message, the attachment will not be in the
"Deleted Items" folder. An "attachment" is really just a part of a single,
large text file, with special coding for special handling of the various
parts of the message. Whatever folder contains the message, also contains
the attachment.

I won't duplicate Michael Santovec's explanation of what to do.

As a rule, posts to an NNTP serve should be responded to the NNTP server.
Even though thousands ask this same question every day because they don't
search the groups to see if the question might have already been asked and
answered, it is still proper form to thread the messages, including
responses, when posting to NNTP groups.

I see that you post this on the web site. MSFT's explanation doesn't seem to
sink in for the visitors. Despite telling visitors that these groups are end
user mutual self help groups, most people don't seem to understand the
implication; they are not staffed by paid MSFT employees. Because of this,
most people don't understand that these groups operate in the tradition of
the ancient Usenet.

Although I don't normally do this, your use of the Microsoft CDO for Windows
2000 news client means you might not cruise back to the site to check for
replies; so I will Cc: your email address. You should get in the habit of
treating these groups as the news groups that they are, and come back to
check your post for responses.
