1) For your sending error, see if one of these apply:
Error Message If the Folders.dbx File Is Missing or Damaged
(Unknown error has occurred. Protocol: SMTP Port: 0

2) For the receiving problem, look in Tools, Accounts, Mail, Properties, General and make
sure that the Include this account in Send and Receive is checked.
