Conflict with AOL Instant Messenger

Upon starting up Outlook Express 6.00, AOL instant
messenger (AIM) opens and asks for a password. Closing AIM
causes a 30-60 mouse freeze for all programs.

I've updated Outlook Express using the latest patch and
even installed a Registry correction software, as I think
it is likely that there is a shared DLL file conflict.
