IE7 auto refreshing a PAIN IN THE ASS

I read long items on news pages and other sites, and IE7's bad habit of
automatically refreshing to the top of the page is bloody annoying!
I heard somewhere about something called META REFRESH but failed to find it
in the settings. I want to turn this function off or at least extend the
refresh rate...
Any help gratefully accepted :-)
