Sometimes only IE, other times three or four. Same thing, though,
always.

Sometimes only the two, other times up to ten, eleven. Same exact
thing, though; always.

Yes, at least that! (It opens maximized if the last window of the app
I closed was closed maximized, and vice-versa.)

See, this is the thing: on this new laptop, the status bar did,
originally. Now, it does not. Same thing on the other, older,
laptop. Oh, come to think of it, neither does it do that here on my
computer at work!

Thanks for the tip, but I'd just checked, and that is indeed turned
on!

You're referring to the "Reuse windows for launching shortcut" under
"Browsing" on the "Advanced" tab of "Internet Options," right? BTW,
Windows Help states that this feature allows what it calles
"Internet-aware" programs to launch a link from within an already open
IE window instead of a whole new one (say, when you click on Adobe
Reader) -- which doesn't sound like my problem! =)

Again, like I said, everything started out fine...I don't know how it
is that I've "lost" this...at least it's only the status bar on the
new one; on the other one the new window doesn't even keep the same
text size!
