Issue with Master Merge being Delayed 12 hours

I have an issue, and haven't been able to find any answers to it. The
issue is, most of the time the Master Merge kicks off at midnight like
normal. One in a while though, instead of 12am, the Merge starts at
12pm. I don't really know what could be causing this. I have about 6
catalogs with about 1 million ASPs a piece, I have the MaxFreshCount
set to 300k, and we never go a day with that many files being
indexed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
