Preprocessed search index....Index Replication...

Hi all,
I want to create a search index of large files in a standard desktop. After
that I want to replicate the same search index on different Desktops without
requiring additional Index building operation. Of course the assumption is
that same set of files would be copied to the same location even in the new
desktop.

I wonder whether this is supported in the Index server or windows desktop
server?

Is there any other better way of replication of Search indexes?
