Microsoft - hello???? We still have this issue. Was almost certainly
caused by a Windows Update. Cannot find any information about our problem
anywhere.

Hey guys,
My site uses index server for a search feature but it's giving us some
trouble. The search always takeds forever and ends in an error. In the
event
log reads .NET runtime 2.0 error. and Faulting application w3wp.exe.
When I
perform the search on the 'query the index' page in mmc it runs very
fast
with no errors. Our developers have the same setups on thier pc's as is
on
the server but none of them are having any problem when they run the
site on
thier local machiness. Any ideas? Can anyone tell me what I should be
looking
at?

Try eventid.net for the Event Log, since you don't post it we can't
help there. For the rest, check what's different between developer
systems and the server. Such as a differnet OS, different
permissions, different size directories, etc.
