Hi Hilary;
Thanks for the reply :-)
I understand the first sentence but not the last :-0
Maybe it's easier if I explain what I need Index Service to do;
I've been using a different search engine (Xav's FDSE) but because I'm now
on Win2K it doesn't work anymore (I think it needs perl etc.) So I'm
interested in running Index Server.
I need the ability for it to index .php, .html, .pdf and .doc files. The
vast majority of pages on the site are PHP (about 10,000) so when people
search the php documents have to be able to be indexed and able to be
clicked on.
Is that something that Index Server can do or I am better off spending my
time trying to make XAV's engine work? Proper indexing is important to my
site :-)
Thanks for your help - it's appreciated!
