Rescanning or Rebuilding should not have an effect. The noise word behavior
is at query time which reads the noise word lists each time (I believe). Are
you in American or using US_Regional settings? If so I don't understand why
you are getting this error. If you are in England or using International
English you should be editing noise.eng
