We use FiltReg.exe, FiltDump.exe and IFilttst.exe to test our filter, they are all ok, except IFilttst.exe run endlessly. But when we search
in windows explorer, seems that our filter dll even not be loaded at
all. The DllCanGetClassObject() never be called. Did anyone else
encounter this problem before?

And remember, even if no files are found because your file name filter excludes them all, the search is not much faster than a search returning *all* files. ... this caching is done by Windows for you. ... The class holds the data for all files in memory and you can search them now from memory, which is much faster as to start a new search for each files of interest. ...
