Howie,
About the indexing network drive problem, I had met it before. But
my user account to login remote server is LOCAL USER of remote server.
I index it by creating the same username and password on the server
which is account for indexing network drive. The user doesn't need the
admin privilege, just has the user privilege. I don't know thoroughly
the executing process of indexing service. But if I don't create the
same username and password in local computer, indexing service won't
index remote server. Maybe you can try it.
The difference between us is that you use domain user to login
remote server, and I use local user to do that.
About PDF IFilter's behavior, I think you can read the README file
which is distributing with installer. It may give you some hint about
what PDF IFilter does.
Hope this can help you.......
