What is the connect as account you are using? Is it a local account on the
remote machine?
Thank You

| Hi,
|
| I realize this is probably very basic, but "the only stupid question is
one
| that isn't asked", so here goes.
|
| I'm trying to add a network path to what the indexing service includes. I
go
| through the add a directory process and browse to the network folder.
Since
| it's on a different machine the account information boxes are available to
| fill in user name and password, which I do.
|
| After giving the machine time to do some indexing, I run searches and it's
| clear that an index of the folder has not been built. I check the event
| viewer application log and see that there are error messages that refer to
| the daemon not being able to logon "username" because of error 1326 which
is
| a password problem.
|
| Here's the network background.
|
| There is a domain server and another member server (which happens to have
| the folder I'm trying to index). My network username has full access to
the
| folder (I'm not a domain admin) . the machine I'm using has XPPro
installed,
| but it is not a member of the domain. My id on this machine (different
from
| my network id) is the only one and has admin privileges. I have no trouble
| accessing the network shares with this setup, the first time I accessed
the
| network, I entered my network id and XP has cached it and connects
| seamlessly every time.
|
| Any hints as to why indexing service can't get to the network folder to
| index it.
|
|
| Thanks in advance
| Howard Goldman
