Another point I did not make is that if I reverse the significance of
NIC's, the failure follows that change.

Example, if NIC "A" is set to say 192.168.1.1 and set in IIS to be the
representative NIC for the WWW address then that is the one that will
be erratic, where NIC "B" set to say 192.168.1.2 will ping
consistently. If I then go into IISAdmin and set 192.168.1.2 as the
website (the NAT'd WWW ip noted in IIS), then suddenly NIC "B" will be
erratic and NIC A will suddenly be perfect. The erratic behaviour is
NEVER seen unless that adapter is defined as being the website ip.
Then, pinging fails. (All pinging here is from within my subnet).

Also, I will get perfect behaviour for long stretches, up to 18 hours,
and then repeated failure for several hours. This inconsistency leads
me to suspect hardware, but what do I know, as you so frequently cheep.
Mind you, if you want to make me feel dumb, just solve this - THAT
would work.
