Alex,
>From the WLBS documents, I read this
...WLBS does not directly monitor server applications, such as Web servers,
for continuous and correct operation. Instead, it provides the mechanisms
needed by application monitors to control cluster operations, for example,
to remove a node from the cluster if an application fails or displays
erratic behavior. Monitoring services are widely available for most
client/server applications....
So what you need is a HTTP heartbeat program, that detects if IIS is heaving
errors, if so, it removes the node from the cluster...
imho, WLBS for IIS is a little budgetoverkill :). For SQL server, it is OK.
I would consider NLBS and implement ISP Session (for instance) to have a
fault tolerant solution. If a server need to be down, you should just
disconnect it and NLBS correctly routes to a living server.
