WMV files?

I am running Windows 2000 IIS with all the latest updates/patches.

I have a client who has a couple of videos (WMV) that he would like his
website visitors to see... but after they have clicked on the link and they
are finished downloading the video the player says that the file is corrupt
or can't be played for one reason or another, but if I right click on the
file and (Save Target As) download it to my harddrive first it will play.
Any ideas why this won't work from the site if the link is clicked on? I am
running version 9 for Windows Media Player.
