Active X error

Hi all

There are 2 things I am trying to track down here,

I am getting an Active X error, can't create object which is stopping the
site from displaying. What can I use to debug this error? The only fix I
have right now is to reboot the machine.

Also what is the application protection setting to Isolated will that help?

Sorry if these are basic questions, but I am new to this and trying to track
down some old info on these older tech.
