Sorry for cross-posting but I never got any reply on the other
newsgroup. Here is my story...
We have IIS v5.0 running on Wn2000 server. We have a SQL server 2000
on the same machine. When we write asp scripts without database
connection, it works fine. But when in any of the script if we try to
make a database connection, the IIS server does not serve any more
pages. Here is the interesting part I don
t get any errors at all neither HTTP errors nor asp errors. The event
log is also clean. Its as if the server has just went in to sleep
mode.
We tried DSN, DSN-less connection and same results. So we thought
probably our SQL server was messsed up. So I went ahead and set up IIS
server on my home computer and created an asp page in which it queries
our main server at the office and it works! No problem at all.
So is there a way the asp engine can somehow get corrupt and choke on
SQL connections? But without any errors of any kind it is indeed hard
to figure out what the heck is wrong with the server. Any suggestions?
