IIS not working after SP2

I installed the built in IIS 5.1 on my XP Pro box and
everything went fine until I try to configure it through
either services or admin tools and it just hangs and
needs to be shut down through task manager, there are no
errors appearing so have'nt a clue, I dont know much
about it or what could be the cause so need some
suggestions plz.
I also have NIS 2004 and disabled the XP firewall.
