In a realtively new development, my IIS (4) services (WWW, FTP, IIS Admin)
are stopping without explanation. No event log entries, nothing unusual in
the IIS logs, no Dr. Watson. It is as if a "stop" command has been issued.
The system does not hang in any way, the services re-start on command
without any problems immediately following the "crash."
The cycle runs at varying intervals, sometimes running for as much as 12
hours or more, and somtimes only a few minutes.
I have applied every update, including the ISAPI filters patch that has to
be requested from MS support. I have run perfmon and can't see any signs of
a memory leak.
Any suggestions short of a small sledge hammer would be most appreciated.
