Are you running any other security/anti-virus software? A couple of them
will intentionally hang/disable IIS from running or executing pages.
Did you install IIS before or after applying SP2 ?

I have recently applied the latest fixes (SP2) to my WinXP system. I cannot access IIS and: 1) If I select the IIS snap-in in the management console, the application hangs (remains an hourglass "forever") until I cancel the management console using the Windows Task Manager. 2) I cannot uninstall IIS. If I select Add/Remove Software > Windows Components and uncheck IIS, it also hangs. There are no error messages in the Event Log. I was just starting on IIS, so I don't know that much about it yet. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.
