Hi All,
I am trying to migrate a website from Win2k/IIS5 to Win2k3/IIS 6. This
is an FTP site with about 3000 virtual directories. I've already
migrated about 5 to 6 sites from the old machine (IIS 5) to the new
one (IIS 6) - manually. This FTP site is the last one. I am trying to
use the IIS migration tool. My questions are:
1. Is the migration tool only usable in command line mode? Is there
any GUI based interface?
2. Does the migration tool allow user to migrate just one website when
several other websites have already been manually migrated and are
under production/live?
3. I read on the IIS migration tool guide that virtual directories can
be moved only if the disk volume letter in both the servers are the
same. What does this really mean? The 3000 odd virtual directories in
the FTP site is located in E: and G: drives in the source server. I am
trying to move it into my F: in the target server. Will the migration
tool work for me? If not, what other options do I have?
Thanks as always.
Ram.
