thanks for reply.

yes i get a connection when running telnet localhost 8081 (also get
connection from other machines).Seems to be listening fine.

When I connect to http://localhost:8081/iisstart.htm I can see the
"underconstruction page"

When i create a dir in dir 8081 and copy iisstart.htm (and amend it) i can
see http://localhost:8081/test/iisstart.htm

I guess this points to a problem with reading PHP scripts on this port.

Sorry I should have mentioned before that im trying to read PHP pages. As i
say its ok from http://localhost/8081/etc.... just cant see PHP when using
the port method.
