Hello,
What is the error you get when you provide the credentials for this user
when prompted?

To confirm if there is an issue with NTFS permissions, download and run the
tool Filemon from www.sysinternals.com while reproducing the problem. Then
save the log and look for Access Denied.

What kind of authentication scheme are you using on this site? If you have
Integrated windows authentication enabled for the sub folder, you will need
to give the user account the "Access this computer from the network"
policy. If you are using Basic authentication then the user account needs
the "Log on Locally" privilege. To assign the user the necessary privilege,
go to Administrative tools-> Local security policy-> Under Security
settings expand Local policies-> User rights assignments.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,
