By reset IIS you mean restart it? That should not be a problem.

Have you controlled that your index.html is not configured to be redirected
(IIS Manager, right click the file, click "Home Directory" tab)? Where are
you redirected (what is the "another page")? Can it be that you have been
hacked, or that some virus is causing this?
