allow logon locally on IIS 6.0

is there any reason why I might want to give allow logon locally to
the network service account? By default, IIS 6.0 doesn't give it but
I have a book (CYA Securing IIS 6.0) which sugegsts I should give it.
i don't see an explanation of why. any ideas?
