It's a client-side setting - the server will always send back the
authentication prompt. It is up to the browser to determine whether it
should send the user's credentials automatically, or require manual
intervention by the user:

You could add both sites to the Intranet zone in IE (you can use a GPO to do
this IIRC), then the user would not need to logon to either site.

: Is there any way to setup common parent authentication for domains so
browsers are only prompted once to logon. Example I have to domains for a
company
:
: staff.company.com
: and
: traffic.company.com
:
: I want both of them to authenticate to thier parent domain of company.com
(which they do) but if you log onto one (ie staff.company.com) you arent
prompted to logon again when you click a link to the other (ie
traffic.company.com). Is this possible and if so is it a server side or
client side setting?
