Can you please try this in cmd prompt:

telnet localhost 80

Do you get a connection?

wfetch will show us the headers for the request as well. In that way, we can
confirm easily if the request is really being made to the server, and what
it responds with (Internet Explorer is not this informative)

Please click the Configuration button on the "Home Directory" tab, and see
if you can find .htm in the list.
