Just creating an account with the same name is insufficient for your
situation. It will not have the same exact SID of the previous user.
You will either need to locate and modify IUSR ACLs everywhere on the system
to match the SID of your new IUSR account, or you can backup the metabase
(make sure to use a password when doing this so that you can later restore
it to the same system) and re-install IIS to have it re-ACL the IUSR
everywhere.

Our service manager accidently deleted the active IUSR account on our 2003 server machine (which is our webserver.) Is there any way to regenerate this account automatically? Or should I just go ahead and create an account called IUSR_MACHINENAME?
