Error in ASP.Net Version - Help

Apparently, we have an error and I need some assistance. On our local
machines we run IIS 5.1 with XP Pro; however, recently, myself and several
other users have gotten the following error when we attempt to build new web
projects:

Visual Studio.Net has detected that the
specified webserver is not running ASP.Net 1.1. However, I have made sure
that everything is setup and I even found a technet article on
aspnet_regiis.exe and made sure that everything is setup exactly as another
machine that works just fine with IIS.

Where are the IIS applications settings stored (versions of products used,
etc.). The only thing I can believe is that some file somewhere did not get
updated properly.

Any help is appreciated.
