Hi
I recently updated my IIS server (on a Windows 2000 server) with the latest
Microsoft security updates, but since I have done this, I get a continuous
stream of error messages in my application log.
One of them lists as IISInfoCtrs
and the content is:
Unable to read the first counter index value from the registry. The error
code returned by the registry is date DWORD 0.
The second lists as: perflib
and the contents is:
The Open Procedure for service "ASP" in DLL "C:\WINNT\system32\aspperf.dll"
failed. Performance data for this service will not be available. Status code
returned is data DWORD 0.
The third error message lists as: W3Ctrs
and the content is
Unable to query the W3SVC (HTTP) service performance data. The error code
returned by the service is data DWORD 0.
I have tried to turn logging off in IIS, tried to restart IIS services,
rebooted the server machine and, as a last resort re-applied SP4 in order to
invalidate the Windows updates. Nothing works - the errors are still there.
I have looked on the Microsoft knowledge base and on the web in general but
there is no solution posted anywhere.
Would anyone be able to help? That would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Hugo
