Using VSS for version contol in IIS6

We wish to use Visual SourceSafe with our IIS6 server (W2k3 Web Edition) as
a version control software, how does one go about intergrating these two
pieces of software together.

In IIS6 frontpage svr extn console under "Version Control" I only get the
option to:
1. Use none
2. Use built in version control

Some texts I have read talk about a third option which you can point to
other version control software but there is no mention of how to get this
option to appear.

Has anyone got any clever ideas, of how I can make IIS6 work with VSS to
handle version control
