IIS virtual directories not showing

I'm new to IIS and I'm using v5.0 on an XP pro machine. My problem is that the no files show up in the the root directory "InetPUb/wwwroot" when I try to use localhost. I've read several posts, restarted, reinstalled and still nothing. Strangely enough, I can run JSPs using Apache. Wherever possible please email response.

Any tips? Hints?
