My first question would be:
a) what type of logging are you using?
b) and what properties are you logging?

Cheers

: Recently after applying one of Microsoft's latest patch-of-the-month-club
: hotfixes, and after rebooting my IIS 5 SP4 server, I noticed something odd
: happening to my IIS log files.
:
: Prior to February 21, 2004, all of my log files showed the client and
server
: IP addresses. But now, I get a mixture of client IPs and client reverse
DNS
: names.
:
: Example, before the Feb 21st reboot the logs looked like this...
:
: 2003-10-01 21:57:54 209.52.133.54 - 63.10.19.232 80 GET /index.htm
:
: After the reboot, the following is typical of what I am seeing...
:
: 2004-03-06 00:06:56 81.199.241.154 - mail.myserver.com 80 GET /index.htm
: 2004-03-06 00:06:58 user-38lcj9r.dialup.mindspring.com - mail.myserver.com
: 80 GET /index.htm
:
: My IP address is no longer found in the log file! But approx. 50% of the
: log entries have client IPs, and the other 50% have DNS names.
:
: Is this one of Microsoft's latest and greatest ideas? Or did I flip a
: switch somewhere and simply don't remember?
:
: I have searched the metabase for the letters "Reverse" thinking that some
: sort of ReverseDNS switch had be switched/flipped on, but the search comes
: up with nothing.
:
: How do I go back to all IPs?
