Hi,
We 're using IIS 5 for our Intranet. All domain computers are Windows
2000 or XP. So we used Windows Integrated Security for IIS for our
intranet. So when a user connects to the intranet he doesn't need to log
on and his creadentials are passed to the IIS. Afterwards to restrict
users from access to pages we use NTFS (read and execute or no
permission). However when someone visits a page to which he has no
permission, the logon dialog where the user's username, password and
domain are asked pops up. After 3 tries or pressing Cancel we get a
response saying "Fout: toegang geweigerd" (Dutch server). We 'd like the
users to just get a Permission denied page or something. Since they are
already logged on and only have one account the logon dialog is useless
and confusing for the less intelligent users (they 'll propably enter
their username and password 3 times).
I 've already cleared the Basic Authentication box so that only Windows
Integrated is enabled. But i still get the dialog. I also tried setting
w3svc/NTAuthenticationProviders using adsutil.vbs to only
NTLM and only Negotiate but still the dialog pops up.
Anyone had any idea? I'm searching on this issues for a few days now but
still found nothing that could help us.
