Jeff,
thank you for staying in touch and helping me.
If you are accessing it by the NetBIOS name, you are probably resolving the name through broadcasts, which won't work outside your LAN. I didn't understand, can you also access it by the IP address as in http://192.168.1.10/ for example?
- YES, only on my server side itself.
Can you Ping the server's IP of 192.168.1.10 from a workstation?
- YES - from the workstation (the server) by PINGing itself I get the following results:
Pinging 192.168.1.10 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.1.10: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 192.168.1.10: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 192.168.1.10: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 192.168.1.10: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Ping statistics for 192.168.1.10:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms
... and from other workstations is says timed out and 100% packet loss.
I have just informed you about my Firewall is turned off, since I have some blockade to my server that has to be found.
1) Show the reults of a ping of the router (192.168.1.1) from the server (192.168.1.10)
C:\>ping 192.168.1.1
