It sounds like Office is trying to load somthing that is dependent on IIS,
however, IIS will not load on XP Home. You should repost this question to:

          microsoft.public.office.setup

| Recently "cleared the deck" on a Dell laptop (WIN XP
| Home, all recommended WIN, Office and IE6 service patches
| installed, Norton Sys works 2003, Zone Alarm Pro),
| reloaded full standalone Office Pro 2000. I am now
| getting the following prompt: "Application must be loaded
| to run. Go to Setup." Upon inserting Setup disk, I am
| prompted, "Setup detects you don't have IIS 4.0
| installed." !?! Never had it, never needed it! All
| routine remedies have been futile. Goin' nuts fast! Any
| thoughts?
