Hi ,
My name is Michael Noto. Thank you for using the Microsoft IIS Newsgroups.
As I understand, installing IIS on Win XP Pro fails due to files not being
found.
We should disable all anti virus software and try to install IIS or use
msconfig to do a selective startup and try to install.
Do you have enough hard drive space to copy the CD to you hard drive? If
the installation fails again, we will know that there is not an issue with
the CD drive.
I hope this helps! If you have additional questions on this topic, please
reply to this posting.
Regards,
Michael Noto

| I'm running into some odd errors trying to install IIS on my Windows XP
Pro workstation. I opted not to install the SMTP and FTP components of IIS,
and proceeded.
First it couldn't find zClientm.ex_ from the Win XP setup disc - even
though when I explore the disc, the file is right there (I also have two
individual Win XP Pro disc and even though there were no visible scratches
or problems, I tried the other - no changed result). Ditto for another file
in a different directory than i386. I've copied both files to my desktop
without copy errors, but still nothing (even when I try to use the copied
versions - and checked for read only permissions). I've tried skipping
these files out of curiosity, but it keeps coming up with more errors.
I've just completed a clean install of Win XP Pro - only thing I can think
of that might be interefering is NAV 2004. Any other thoughts?
I appreciate any help. It doesn't look like I'm alone with this type of
error - but the files missed seem to be specific to my instance.
Thanks.
