In Telnet, when I try to use the command:

MAIL FROM: mymail@xxxxxxxxxxxx

The error 500 5.3.3 Unrecognized command is shown.

MAIL FROM unrecognized? That's fishy. Are you sure you didn't mistype it? In Telnet, there is no backspace.

Try this:

EHLO localhost

MAIL FROM:<somebody@xxxxxxxxxxx>

RCPT TO:<somebody@xxxxxxxxxxxx>
